Great news. The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District, CNPPID, indicates the lake level is at 60.5 percent of maximum capacity. That's up 17 percent from a year ago. The district also stated that the repairs to the hydro plant will not be complete till mid-April. This means we will see lake levels that we have not seen for ten years. Hooray!!! Now lets keep our heads, the district has also removed the limited irrigation restrictions that have been in place over the past five years. Which means irrigation customers can use up to 18 inches of water per acre over a 12 weeks period. Customers had been restrict to 6.7 or 8.4 inches of water over a 8 to 10 week period.
So the good news, the lake level will be up, for a while.
The bad news the level will drop without good rains.
Fishing will be difficult, better learn to jig and plan to loose a lot of them.
Have a great day.
